LOVE PARKS WEEK:
A busier day than normal for Yeovil Rec. A Love Parks day as part of the national Love Parks Week (www.loveparksweek.org.uk) was held at the recreation ground and thankfully the weather held out. It was the only break in the rain for some days so people were eager to take advantage of the summer skies.
Many families spent the day playing football, cricket, enjoying a picnic and as there was a bit of a breeze it meant a good day to fly kites. Some kites were homemade whereas others had professional designs needing a harness and a crash helmet. If the wind had been any stronger the helmet would have been invaluable!
The pitch and putt and the mini golf was extremely popular with discounted rates and not surprisingly the multi games area was rarely empty.
There are plans for this to be an annual event so further details about next year will be posted later.
REMEMBER: LOVE YOUR PARK, LOVE YEOVIL REC, DON’T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED!
